IUI — intrauterine insemination is one of the simpler infertility treatments.
This treatment involves ovarian stimulation with tablets and fewer injections with serial ultrasonography. Once the follicle stains a size 18-20 mm, a Trigger injection is given and IUI is planned after 36 hours. Semen preparation involves, the collection of semen from ejaculate, and processing it in the andrology laboratory with density gradient media.
Processed and washed sample is inseminated into the uterus through the vagina by a simple technique which does not need anaesthesia. Pregnancy test by a simple blood test is carried out with the luteal phase support, after 15 days
